Laser Cutting Consumables Wholesale: How Bulk Ordering Works
What Wholesale Actually Changes
Wholesale is not a different product. The nozzle in a wholesale carton is the same nozzle as the one in a single-unit box. Three things change:
- How the part is packed — bulk bags or bins instead of retail boxes, or neutral boxes with your label.
- How the price is calculated — by part family and quantity band, not per line item.
- How the order is documented — packing list, batch reference, and certificates where they exist.
What does not change is the verification step. Every part is still checked against the head model before it leaves, because a wrong part at volume is a much more expensive mistake than a wrong part at one.
What Actually Sets Your Unit Price
This is the part buyers most often misjudge. Buying “more of the same thing” is only one of four levers.
| Lever | What it does to price | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Part family | Each family has its own tooling and inspection cost | Nozzles and ceramic rings are not priced like protective windows; one blended discount across all of them rarely works |
| Quantity band | Price drops in steps, not continuously | Crossing a band boundary is worth restructuring an order for |
| Tolerance and inspection | Tighter checks cost money | If you need a bore measured per piece, say so — it changes the quote |
| Packaging | Neutral, labelled or retail | OEM labelling adds a step; bulk bags remove one |
| Delivery terms | Who books the freight | Express air on a 40 kg carton can cost more than the parts |
The practical consequence: a mixed order across two or three families, each in a sensible band, usually beats one huge order of a single part — because stock that sits for a year is a cost too.
Building a Mixed Order
Consumables are consumed at wildly different rates. A rough ranking that holds on most fiber machines:
| Part | Consumption pattern | Stocking unit |
|---|---|---|
| Protective windows | Fastest — one bad pierce can end one | Boxes of 10 or 20 |
| Nozzles | Fast, and bore-specific | 5–10 per bore you actually run |
| Ceramic rings | Slow until it cracks, then urgent | 2–3 per head |
| Focus / collimating lenses | Slow, but a failure stops the machine | 1–2 per focal length |
| Sensor cables | Rare, but machine-down when it fails | 1 spare |
Mixed orders are normal here. We ship one carton with nozzles, windows and rings for the same head family, which is usually what a service team actually needs.
What to Send Us for a Quote
The fastest quotes come from a message that answers these five things. Miss two and the reply becomes a question, which costs a day.
| Item | Example | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Head model | Raytools BM111, Precitec ProCutter 2.0 | Parts are not interchangeable across head families |
| Part and variant | D28 H15 double layer, coated, 1.5 mm bore | Bore and layer change the part number, not just the price |
| Quantity per line | 50 windows, 20 nozzles, 5 rings | Sets the band |
| Delivery target | “need by the 15th”, “no rush” | Decides air vs sea |
| Packaging | Neutral / our label / retail | OEM labelling needs artwork |
If you only know the old part, a photo of it next to a rule is enough to work backwards from. We do this daily.
OEM Labelling, Documents and Traceability
For distributors and machine builders, the order usually has to arrive looking like it came from you, not from us.
- Neutral packaging — plain boxes or bags, no supplier branding.
- Your label — we print from your artwork (PDF or AI), applied per carton or per bag.
- Packing list — line-level quantities, part references, batch reference.
- Certificates — material and coating certificates are available for optics on request; ask before the order, not after.
What we will not do is put another manufacturer’s brand on a part. Brand names on this site describe compatibility, and those trademarks belong to their owners.
Lead Time: What Moves It
Stock lines ship from what is on the shelf. Non-stock items are made or ordered against the head model. Three things push a date out, in order of impact: a part that has to be produced, a coating specification that is not standard, and a shipping window that falls on a public holiday. If your date is fixed, tell us the date rather than the quantity — we will tell you what is achievable instead of guessing.
The Failure Mode Nobody Prices In
At volume, the expensive mistake is not unit price. It is a carton of 200 windows that fit the wrong cartridge revision. It gets discovered on a Monday shift, and the line stops.
That is why the quote process asks for the head model even when you are reordering something you have bought before. Head revisions happen quietly. A protective window that fitted a 2021 head may not fit the 2024 revision of the same model, and nobody announces it.
FAQ
Do you have a minimum order quantity?
There is no single number — it depends on the part family, because a nozzle and a coated focusing lens have very different setup costs. Tell us the list and the destination, and the quote will show what makes sense to combine.
Can I mix different part families in one order?
Yes. Mixed cartons are the normal case for service teams and smaller distributors. It is also usually cheaper per part than ordering one family deeply and paying freight twice.
Can you ship under our brand?
Yes, with neutral packaging and your label. We do not reproduce another manufacturer’s branding on a part — compatibility is described in writing instead.
How do I know the part will fit before I order 200?
Send the head model and a photo of the old part next to a rule. We confirm the variant in writing before the order is produced. For first orders we recommend a small trial quantity of the highest-consumption item before committing to a full carton.
Start With a List, Not a Price
Send us your consumption list — part, variant, monthly quantity, head model — and you will get a quote that separates stock lines from made-to-order items, so you can see what is worth holding and what is not.
Browse the nozzle range, protective windows and lenses, or the cutting parts and ceramic rings to check variants first, then request a quote with your list.
